Mechatronics design for better human-robot interaction

<Abstract>

As robots move from laboratories and exhibitions into real-world social environments, robots are gradually becoming integral to daily human activities and expanding in previously unexplored applications. The synergy of human intelligence with robot hardware has been shown to improve the robot performance of nonroutine tasks and the quality of human lives. Potentials of human-robot interaction are highlighted by innovative mechatronics design, modeling, and control. This speech explores how mechatronics design can enhance human-robot interaction by integrating mechanical and electrical components to improve adaptability and efficiency. Industrial case studies will demonstrate successful implementations.
